    CELEBRATING SUCCESSES

ICS Alumnus, Blake Rey, graduated from ICS in 2011 and is currently a junior at Jesuit High School. While at ICS, Blake not only served as our school's Student Council President, but also participated in Track and Field, setting many ICS school track records. A member of the Cross Country team at Jesuit, Blake also writes for the Jesuit newspaper, The Tiger, and serves as the paper's Opinion editor.

Blake's work is featured in the September issue (page 4): The Tiger

Great job, Blake! ICS is proud of you!

Do you know of an ICS alumnus who has found success in the areas of academics, athletics, leadership, service or ministry that should be featured in our Newsletter? If so, please help us to recognize the sons and daughters of Incarnation Catholic School by sending notification to Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org. GO IRISH!

    HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

Students should adhere to the following guidelines for our Halloween Celebration on Thursday October 31.

    *Storybook Character Costumes:
    -Pre - K to Grade 5

-Any easily identifiable character from literature: Cinderella, Aladdin, Harry Potter, Fancy Nancy, Clifford, etc. No blood, weapons, etc. The purpose of our dress is to promote school spirit, promote a love of reading and have fun. It is not to scare or gross out. Thank you for maintaining this rationale for this celebration.

*Any student not participating in Storybook Character Costume Day should wear their regulation school uniform.

    *Crazy Hair Day
    -Grades 6 - 8

-Horrible hair -- different size ponytails, braids, curls, spikes, messy, wigs, rubber bands, colors, etc. ALL HAIRDOS MUST BE DONE AT HOME.

-Students in grades 6 - 8 are permitted to wear Spirit Shirts, jeans and sneakers. School uniform is the alternative.

    Cross-Fit

Coach Garofolo has initiated a new faith-based program, Cross-Fit, to our students, teachers and school community. Faculty and students of all grade levels are invited to participate in this new and exciting experience.  Cross-Fit is an after school activity that takes place once a month at 5 p.m. During Cross-Fit all who attend will be asked to participate in a silent workout which combines a review of the Stations of the Cross with some reflection and physical activity designed for all ages and levels of fitness.  Our first Cross-Fit event took place in September and 19 individuals participated. The number grew to 33 this past Tuesday during our second Cross-Fit workout.  Hopefully, as each month passes participation will continue to grow.  Stay tuned for details about our next workout. All are welcome!

Please contact Coach Garofolo if you are interested in being involved with Cross-Fit.

    Bowling Club

ICS is sponsoring a Bowling Club at Pinchasers for any PreK to Grade 8 student who is interested. The first event takes place on Monday October 21 from 3:45 - 4:45. Parents must be able to transport students from ICS to Pinchasers and there is a small fee for participating. See Coach Garofolo for more details.

    Family Supper Lunch Order Forms

Next Thursday October 24 ICS Households will gather for another Family Supper and Irish Cup Activity session. Similar to our event from last month, lunch orders need to be taken in advance of Thursday so that an accurate amount of food can be prepared and disseminated to students. Please expect this form on Monday of next week. Forms need to be returned by Wednesday October 23.

Households had Family Meetings last week and Household Mottos were created. Be sure to ask your student what his/her Household Motto is.
In keeping with our tradition, we at Incarnation Catholic School:
    Inspire life-long learning,
Challenge each individual to be a disciple of Christ, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.
