Prayers
We pray in thanksgiving for the gift of Katie Rose Gonzalez being born this past Monday!
We pray for our 2nd and 8th graders who will be receiving the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation, respectively, in the upcoming month of May. May God continue to lead and guide them on the final stages of their journeys of faith and may these students experience Jesus's graces in new and transforming ways through these Sacraments of Initiation!
We lift up Kiera Jordan, friend of Elijah Carbo (Gr. 3) who has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. We pray for Kiera and her doctors. May God's healing hand lead her to a full recovery.
We pray for Kai Schulte, nephew of Mrs. Ostrander (Devon and Ethan, Gr. 6 and 8). Kai passed into eternal life last Wednesday. May God grant Kai eternal rest and may God give the family His strength and peace during this difficult time.
We continue to pray for Coach Garofolo and his wife for continued good health in the pregnancy of their second child!
We continue to pray for the people of Ecuador and Japan who have been affected by the recent earthquakes. May God help to restore the loss of life and property and bring healing and hope to these devastated lands.

Hope Will Rise
Christian hope is a gift that God gives us if we come out of ourselves and open our hearts to him.— Pope Francis (@Pontifex) April 27, 2016
Jesus seeks your heart. He wants nothing more than you to turn to Him and allow Him to heal you, love you, and transform you.
Allow Him into your life and Hope Will Rise.
ICS Academics
We have been covering the concept of a Growth Mindset over the past few weeks. To continue to grow in this idea, here is some more information about promoting a Growth Mindset in your children (instead of "What Can I Say To Myself" think "What Can I Say To My Kids"):
Be careful of your own self-talk, too! Our kids listen to everything that we say, they watch everything that we do and they imitate us in both good ways and bad! Be sure you're sending them the right message about a Growth Mindset! You can do it!

ICS Faith
What do you get out of Mass? Check out this short reflection on the Real Presence in the Eucharist! As our 2nd graders make their First Holy Communion this weekend, may they act as witnesses to the lukewarm, the apathetic and the lapse Catholic in all of us! Jesus is the Bread of Life! Amen!

ICS Digital Media
ICS embraces a philosophy of Digital Literacy that encourages students to critically consume on-line content while being responsible Digital Citizens. Given the amount of time students spend engaged in electronic media outside of school - over 7 hours a day - it is vital that they know how to view this content thoughtfully. For more on the concept of Digital Literacy and its importance in educating 21st Century students, go here: http://medialiteracynow.org/what-is-media-literacy/
Incarnation Carnival - Thank you!
On behalf of Fr. Michael Suszynski and the faculty, staff and students of Incarnation Catholic School, we would like to thank the following individuals from the School and Church for their herculean efforts with our 52nd Annual Carnival. We had an outstanding outpouring of volunteer support with set-up, during the event itself, and even afterwards with clean-up (thank you!), but the list of individuals below went above and beyond the call of duty to organize and execute this 4-day event! Many took time off of work and/or used some of their own resources with attracting vendors, advertising, securing entertainment, construction of booths and the overall financial operation of the event.

Re-registration to ICS
From the desk of Mrs. Moody, ICS Registrar:
3rd Annual Irish Cup Championship
On Friday May 13 students will compete with their Households and Priories in the 3rd Annual Irish Cup Championship. A year-long competition, the Race for the Irish Cup culminates with this reimagined version of field day in which students will work together in a variety of physical and mental challenges.
Last year, through the generosity of donors, ICS was able to purchase 4 Jump Sumo and 4 Ollie drones to use as the STEM components of the academic challenges that have since become a part of our Coding and Robotics clubs. Similarly, we were able to provide all members of the school community a Priory t-shirt to promote school spirit and make the competition even more exciting!
We have BIG plans for this year's Irish Cup. If you are willing to make a donation to help ICS defray the costs of this community building event (t-shirts, supplies, snacks, etc.), please send it in to the Front Office or contact Mr. Zelenka: zelenkam@icstampa.org
Anyone interested in volunteering for the event should also contact either the Front Office (813) 884-4502 or Mr. Zelenka: zelenkam@icstampa.org. Volunteers must be Background Screened!
Thank you in advance for your help!

Re-registration to ICS
From the desk of Mrs. Moody, ICS Registrar:
We have had a great influx of new families that have already registered students at ICS for next year. Typically, we see an increase in new students later in the summer. This year, we have had a strong number of new families commit to ICS earlier than usual. I have also given more tours this year than in the past. Current families shouldn't delay in re-registering as spots are filling up!This is great news for our school, but don't be left without a spot! Do not delay; re-register today. Contact Mrs. Moody for more information or with questions: icsmmood@icstampa.org
