ICS - Culver's Spirit Lunch
We will host our next ICS - Culver's Spirit Lunch on Thursday January 19. Order forms will be in today's Thursday packet and are due back by next Friday January 13 - no exceptions! This allows us enough time to process the payment to Culver's. Thank you!
Incarnation Church Valentine's Gala
Please consider attending our Church's largest fundraiser, the ICC Valentine's Gala on Saturday February 11. More information is found below or here: http://icctampa.org/?event=annual-valentines-gala&event_date=2017-02-11.
Our Parish generously supports the mission of Catholic education at our school. Therefore, please support our Parish! We hope to see you there!
Merry Christmas!
As Catholics, the season of Christmas runs from Christmas through New Years and the Epiphany until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (which this year is January 9). As such, take advantage of the joy and hope of the Incarnation and continue to come to Jesus in the form of the Mass.
For some extra inspiration, read through the following post about the importance of taking children to Mass every week. Highlights include:
1. Repetition is the mother of all learning
2. Kids understand a lot more than we think they do
3. Jesus is like the sun
If you went to church over Christmas, continue to do so!
Merry Christmas!
Smart Watches and Other Devices
As part of the celebration of exchanging gifts on Christmas, students may have received new tablets, phones and/or smart watches. While ICS embraces a 21st Century Learning approach to education, and therefore the responsible use of technology in the educational process, students should use caution in brining these items onto campus.
Tablets (iPads, Kindles, etc.) and phones are permissible on campus but must be kept in bags and powered off unless a teacher gives explicit permission for a student's use. In this way, students must ask or be told specifically by a teacher to use a tablet or phone to access the internet.
Since smart watches are intended to be worn as a wristwatch, limiting their use to only permissible times is much more difficult. Also, given their high expense and propensity to get damaged during PE and/or recess, smart watches are not permitted for student use at ICS at this time.
ICS is not responsible for these items getting lost, stolen or damaged.
Please know that ICS firmly believes in integrating technology into its education of students. However, the safety and security of our students and responsible use of technology is paramount. WE will continue to analyze how to best incorporate these latest technological advances into the curriculum and instruction at ICS. If you have any questions or concerns about this or any ICS policy, please contact Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org.
In advance, we appreciate your support!
IN KEEPING WITH OUR TRADITION, WE AT INCARNATION CATHOLIC SCHOOL:
Inspire disciples of Christ,
Challenge each individual to be a life-long learner, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.
