Prayers

We continue to hold Mrs. Sirianni, ICS Teaching Assistant, and her family in prayer as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Sirianni's father. May God continue to offer Mrs. Sirianni and her family His love, comfort and peace as they cope with the loss of her father.

We also continue to pray for the family of Isaac Rosa (Gr. 5) as they mourn the passing into eternal life of Isaac's maternal grandfather. We pray for the Rosa family and that God's loving arms can surround their family at this time.

We pray for an end to all domestic abuse and violence.

We pray that families can be strengthened through time spent together in prayer, play and eating.

We pray for our upcoming 2015 Auction event. May God bless the work of the Auction Committee and may He bless the ICS Family with the resources needed to continue and advance the work being done in His name at Incarnation Catholic School.

We pray for all new families to ICS. May they feel welcomed and supported by all within our school.

We continue to pray for safety and shelter for all people and property throughout the remainder of the 2015 Hurricane Season.

Have a prayer request? Send it to icsmzele@icstampa.org.

Hope Will Rise

In honor of the upcoming Feast of All Saints, the video above uses a past ICS scriptural passage:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12: 1 - 2).
Let us rely on our cloud of witnesses and let us realize the immense hope they give us as we run our respective races! Run with perseverance. Run even when you have nothing left. Run as if the race is already won - because it is, by Jesus Christ and all the holy men and women that have run before us!

Hope Will Rise!

Conferences
We look forward to partnering with you this afternoon and evening for our first Family - Teacher Conference session of the 2015 - 16 school year. If you still desire a conference with a teacher, please contact that teacher right away. We may not be able to coordinate a time today, but teachers will do all they can to schedule a day and time to discuss the progress of your child thus far this year.

Thank you for your partnership. At ICS, we believe that parents are the primary educators of children and we are honored to work alongside you to inspire disciples of Christ, challenge life-long learners and strive to live our Catholic faith through service.

ICS Halloween Celebration - Storybook Characters and Crazy Hair
Students should adhere to the following guidelines for our Halloween Celebration on Friday October 30.

*Storybook Character Costumes:
-Pre - K to Grade 5

-Any easily identifiable character from literature: Cinderella, Aladdin, Harry Potter, Fancy Nancy, Clifford, etc. No blood, weapons, etc. The purpose of our dress is to promote school spirit, promote a love of reading and have fun. It is not to scare or sicken. Similarly, families should avoid costumes that are inappropriate for children (i.e. costumes that are intentionally provocative). Thank you for maintaining this rationale for this celebration and for maintaining a family - friendly atmosphere.

*Any student not participating in Storybook Character Costume Day should wear their regulation school uniform.

*Crazy Hair Day:

-Grades 6 - 8

-Horrible hair -- different size ponytails, braids, curls, spikes, messy, wigs, rubber bands, colors, etc. ALL HAIRDOS MUST BE DONE AT HOME.

-Students in grades 6 - 8 are permitted to wear Spirit Shirts, jeans and sneakers. School uniform is the alternative.

Please remember that it is a 1/2 day of school. The schedule is as follows:

We will end the day on Friday October 30 with "Rainy Day" Dismissal.

If you have any questions, please contact the Front Office: 813.884.4502.

ICS Home and School Trunk or Treat

We are still accepting volunteers to sponsor a "Trunk" at our first ever "Trunk or Treat" for our students. As students will be supervised by teachers, the basic requirement is that volunteers have a completed Level II Background Screening to participate. The form sent earlier this month said that both Level II screening AND Safe Environment Program Training were needed. Only the background screening is needed.

Contact Mrs. Gonzalez if you have any questions or concerns or if you would like to participate: gonzalezl@icstampa.org.

Under the Stars Movie Night
Many thanks to Mrs. Cindy Ostrander and her team of volunteers for organizing a wonderful Under the Stars Movie Night last Friday. Over 40 families were in attendance and the event raised $800 for the school!

Thanks as well to Westchase Pizza & Pasta Co. for donating pizza for the night! It was delicious and a great way to boost the net profit for the evening.

Go Irish!

Background Screening
Anyone hoping to join our students on campus during the school day must have a Level II Background Screening completed through the Diocese of St. Petersburg.

Volunteers may log into the site listed below and register. You will need to use the login information provided below:

Applicant login credentials:

Volunteers who would also like to supervise children need Safe Environment Program Training in addition to the Level II screening. ICS Open House for Prospective Students

Please help spread the good news of ICS by inviting those who may be interested to one of our upcoming two Open Houses, November 9 and 11. Your word of mouth about the good things happening in Christ's name at Incarnation is our most powerful advertising tool. Thank you in advance for your help and support in growing our school.

ICS Band Moving to Fridays
In an attempt to better serve the students and families of the ICS Band Program, Mrs. Ross will be moving her day at ICS from Wednesdays to Fridays. This will begin tomorrow Friday, October 30! If you have any questions, please contact the Front Office: 813.884.4502.

Masters Music Class - 11/6

The Master Class on November 6 will be given by soprano Jennifer Sunshine. Ms. Sunshine and Ms. Maniscalco have been working together for over ten years giving concerts in schools, concert halls, and churches in New York City.  In January of 2013, the duo raised $3,000 at their concert, "Songs for Sandy," given to benefit the Brooklyn Community Fund and specifically, a family that had been affected by Hurricane Sandy. Ms. Sunshine is very excited to meet the students of ICS and work on their Christmas music with them!

This Masters class on Friday November 6 will take place in the Church in the afternoon. Therefore, the November Morning Assembly has been moved to the following week, Friday November 13. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Maniscalco: maniscalcos@icstampa.org.

Remember that our Advent / Christmas Music Program is scheduled for Thursday December 17 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Michael Hall. Mark it on your calendars today - you won't want to miss it!

Faith Formation Updates
*The First Communion Workshop II will be Saturday, November 14 in St. Michael Hall from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

*The Confirmation Parent Meeting will be held Wednesday, November 18 in the Church at 7:00 p.m. Please provide a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate at this meeting. The deadline for Confirmation registration is this Friday, October 30.

*If you wish to have your child baptized at Incarnation Catholic Church, please contact Carmen Cayon either by phone, 813.885.7861, or by email, ccayon@icctampa.org

All Sacrament preparation is done through the Faith Formation Office, not the school. Business hours for the Faith Formation Office are 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please direct any questions you may have to  either Philomena Johnson or Carmen Cayon either by phone, 813.885.7861, or by email, pjohnson@icctampa.org or ccayon@icctampa.org.

We thank our partners in Catholic education from the eastern side of our Incarnation campus for all of their work with our families regarding sacramental preparation!

Our ICS Students are AMAZING
Liam Diaz (Grade 2) recently completed his very first community service project. He participated in a beach trash clean up through the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Liam initiated the request to find this sort of project out of a spirit of service. We congratulate Liam for his awareness of the larger community, his respect and concern for both the environment and wildlife, and his sense of responsibility to take action.

Great job, Liam, for exemplifying our ICS Learner Profile traits of being a Servant of God, Virtuous, a Global Thinker and a Community Member! GO IRISH!

Office Supplies
As we get into the heart of the school year, the number of bumps, scrapes, bruises and injuries incurred by our students have increased. As such, the Front Office is in need of small and big band aids and plastic snack bags for ice. If you are able to make a donation the school would be very grateful and you can receive commitment hours for your generosity. Thank you in advance for your help.

IN KEEPING WITH OUR TRADITION, WE AT INCARNATION CATHOLIC SCHOOL:
Inspire disciples of Christ,
Challenge each individual to be a life-long learner, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.

Prayers

We hold Mrs. Sirianni, ICS Teaching Assistant, and her family in prayer as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Sirianni's father. May God usher to Mrs. Sirianni and her family His love, comfort, strength and peace during this difficult time.

We pray the family of Isaac Rosa (Gr. 5) as they mourn the passing into eternal life of Isaac's maternal grandfather. We pray for Isaac, his grandfather and their family. May God provide the Rosa family His strength and comfort during this difficult time.

We once again offer a prayer of thanksgiving and praise for the HOPE and gift of new life! Mrs. Gonzalez and her husband are pregnant with their first child! We pray for a healthy baby, mom (and dad)! Send Mrs. Gonzalez a note of congratulations here: gonzalezl@icstampa.org. May God continue to bless you, Mrs. and Mr. Gonzalez, and we can't wait to meet your new baby! Congratulations on this AMAZING news!

Hope Will Rise

At ICS we believe that we can do hard work. Believing the opposite is a hopeless way to approach a challenge! Today's Hope Will Rise quote comes from Sr. Melannie Svoboda, SND, and a recent blog post about perseverance: http://www.melanniesvobodasnd.org/2015/10/19/in-praise-of-peseverance/

Let us continue to work together as a united home and school unit to develop a growth mindset in our children so that they will not only believe but also know that they can do hard work!

HOPE WILL RISE.

Teachers will do all that they can to accommodate all families who desire a conference. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your partnership in educating our children! We look forward to seeing you next Thursday.

Additionally, the future Altar Server Trainings will occur on Wednesday, November, 11 and on Wednesday, December 9 from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. An announcement will also be made prior to both of these trainings. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Woodward: woodwardb@icstampa.org
