HALL OF HONORS

Our 2nd class of inductees into the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors will take place on Friday May 2. If you would like to nominate someone for induction, please contact the Main Office for a nomination form. You can also visit our school's webpage: Hall of Honors

Criteria for the Hall of Honors are included here:

Incarnation Catholic School graduates go on to successful high school, college and professional careers. And wherever they work, in whatever discipline they are in, you can find them at the top. This is due in part to the strong academic and spiritual foundation laid at ICS, at the outstanding homes of ICS families and as a result of the exemplar moral character of individual ICS students, faculty, staff, priests and volunteers.
The Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors recognizes alumni, faculty and staff, parents, priests, benefactors and friends of the school who made significant contributions to the School, Church, and / or world at large.
Candidates for the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors must be nominated by someone other than the nominee him/herself. The School Advisory Board of Incarnation Catholic School, in consultation with the Pastor and Principal, review nominations and select qualified candidates for the year's class of inductees.
Nominations are due by March 15, 2014.

Preparations are already underway for our Home and School Association events for the 2014 - 15 school year. Home and School will continue to transition into a large committee for next year and beyond as opposed to the former model of a small board. This will help to engage more parents and families and allow for more division of work and responsibilities.

Anyone interested in taking an active role in the HSA planning process for next school year is invited to an informal meeting next Wednesday February 19 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael Hall. All are welcome; just come to the main entrance of St. Michael Hall at 9:30. The meeting will last about one hour. More meetings will be scheduled throughout the course of the 2nd semester. This week, you will find your commitment hour balance through the half way point of the year. Next week, you will receive your balance for our $150.00 fundraising commitment to the school. PRAYER INTENTIONS

We continue to pray for Mr. Jack Foy, grandfather of Lia Morrissey (Grade 7), as he continues his radiation treatments for prostate cancer. May God give Mr. Foy strength to fight this horrible disease.

Please continue to pray for Mrs. Mireida Abad, Jennifer Lopez's (Grade 7) mother, as she continues to fight an illness. May God grant her healing and her family strength.

Let us continue to pray for the Baker family, and all those who have been affected by cancer. May God allow the discovery of a cure for cancer.

Have a prayer intention? Send it to icsmzele@icstampa.org

CELEBRATING SUCCESSES

Congratulations to the following students, earning honors for their work in the 2nd quarter!

Do you know of a current ICS student or ICS graduate who has found success in the areas of academics, athletics, leadership, service or ministry that should be featured in our Newsletter? If so, please send notification to: icsmzele@icstampa.org

FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

Our next Food and Fellowship activity is 2/20/14 at McDonald's (7909 W. Hillsborough Ave.) between 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Emery's Art Club will be having their 1st Art Exposition at this event. For every flyer presented, McDonald's will donate 20% of that sale to ICS (dine-in only). The class with the highest sales will have a FREE Happy Meal (PreK - Grade 5) or All-American Meal (Middle School) lunch.

GRANDPARENTS' DAY

Thank you to the many parent volunteers who helped to make our most recent installment of Grandparents' Day such a huge success. Over 350 grandparents and grandchildren enjoyed a day of refreshments, prayer service, student showcase, tours and the ICS Book Fair!

May God continue to bless all grandparents wherever they may be!

HALL OF HONORS

Our 2nd class of inductees into the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors will take place on Friday May 2. If you would like to nominate someone for induction, please contact the Main Office for a nomination form.

SAFETY

Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe. Along those lines, please to remember the following policies:

-Cell phone usage is not permitted for active drop-off and pick-up zones.

-Traffic patterns are established for the safety of all students. Parking to circumvent the established patterns and save time can jeopardize safety.

-In order to join students for lunch and / or in classrooms throughout the course of the school day, you need a completed and up to date Level II background screening completed through the Diocese of St. Petersburg. If you have questions about your screening, please contact the Main Office.

TIGHTENING

As we move into the 2nd semester, please note that teachers, staff and administrators will be tightening our enforcement of established rules, policies and procedures. Please continue to support and reinforce these from home. A unified front between home and school is a recipe for the success of our students. Thank you for your partnership.

In keeping with our tradition, we at Incarnation Catholic School:
Inspire life-long learning,
Challenge each individual to be a disciple of Christ, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.
