PRAYER INTENTIONS

We pray for the cousin of Ms. Cummings, Jerry Heubel, who will be undergoing double bypass heart surgery on February 18. May God grant Jerry strength during this procedure and may God be with the surgeons and medical personnel who will care for him.

This week is the Catholic Church's Marriage and Family Week (2/7 - 2/14). Let us pray for the success of this annual event, geared toward promoting the benefits of marriage for men, women, children and society and to connect people with marriage resources around the country. May God be with all families and may He strengthen our focus on this important Sacrament: http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/marriage-and-family/index.cfm

Please join in prayer for the St. Stephen Catholic School and Church community as they mourn the loss of one of their 8th grade students, Andrew Joseph. May God be with the Joseph and St. Stephen families during this difficult time.

Let us continue to pray for the following people:
-Jack Foy
-Mireida Abad
-The Baker Family

THANK YOU

The teachers, administration and staff of Incarnation Catholic School would like to extend a "Thank You" to all ICS Parents and Families for spoiling us during Catholic Schools Week. We definitely felt and feel appreciated! Thank you for all that you did, all that you do, and most importantly your partnership with our school!

HOME

Today's quote comes to us from Mrs. Peach (Caitlin, Grade 7).  Thank you!

Mr. Zelenka's recent blog post, Homemade by Hand, goes right along with this philosophy! Check it out: http://icscatholicedu.blogspot.com/2014/01/homemade-by-hand.html

Have a great quote about our school's theme, HOME? Send it to: icsmzele@icstampa.org

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

The next submission of Box Tops for education is Thursday February 27. The class with the most Box Tops during this period will receive a free dress day. 4th Grade is out to an early lead!

HALL OF HONORS

Our 2nd class of inductees into the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors will take place on Friday May 2. If you would like to nominate someone for induction, please contact the Main Office for a nomination form.

Criteria for the Hall of Honors are included here:

Incarnation Catholic School graduates go on to successful high school, college and professional careers. And wherever they work, in whatever discipline they are in, you can find them at the top. This is due in part to the strong academic and spiritual foundation laid at ICS, at the outstanding homes of ICS families and as a result of the exemplar moral character of individual ICS students, faculty, staff, priests and volunteers.
The Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors recognizes alumni, faculty and staff, parents, priests, benefactors and friends of the school who made significant contributions to the School, Church, and / or world at large.
Candidates for the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors must be nominated by someone other than the nominee him/herself. The School Advisory Board of Incarnation Catholic School, in consultation with the Pastor and Principal, review nominations and select qualified candidates for the year's class of inductees.
Nominations are due by March 15, 2014.

STATE OF THE 'NATION

As a way to fully communicate the vision for the future of Incarnation Catholic School, parents and families are invited to one of two State of the 'Nation meetings. Sessions will be held on Thursday March 6 at 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday March 8 at 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the Church (come on Saturday and then stay for Carnival set-up, see below). Childcare will be available. One commitment hour will be awarded for your family's attendance.

Topics will include: tuition rates for 2014 - 15, development of an early childhood program, Home and School, and an overview of initiatives currently being developed in support of our Florida Catholic Conference Accreditation.

HOME AND SCHOOL 2014 - 2015

Preparations are already underway for our Home and School Association events for the 2014 - 15 school year. Home and School will continue to transition into a large committee for next year and beyond as opposed to the former model of a small board. This will help to engage more parents and families and allow for more division of work and responsibilities.

Anyone interested in taking an active role in the HSA planning process for next school year is invited to an informal meeting next Wednesday February 19 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael Hall. All are welcome; just come to the main entrance of St. Michael Hall at 9:30. The meeting will last about one hour. More meetings will be scheduled throughout the course of the 2nd semester. Stay tuned!

CARNIVAL SET-UP

Saturday March 8 is the first day of Carnival set-up. Your help and support is needed for this Church and School event. The Carnival is the largest fundraiser sponsored by either the Church or the School and requires the efforts of our entire Incarnation community! We hope to see you on the 8th of March!

OUTSTANDING OBLIGATIONS

As we prepare for re-registration and look toward re-enrollment for next school year, families are reminded to fulfill all financial obligations to the school. This week, you will find your commitment hour balance through the half way point of the year. Next week, you will receive your balance for our $150.00 fundraising commitment to the school. Please also keep in mind, though, aftercare charges, background screening fees and any other financial commitment to the school.

Should you have any questions about your obligations, please contact the Main Office: 813.884.4502.

In keeping with our tradition, we at Incarnation Catholic School:
Inspire life-long learning,
Challenge each individual to be a disciple of Christ, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.
