ICS - Culver's Spirit Lunch
We will sponsor our next ICS - Culver's Spirit Lunch on Thursday January 19. Order forms were in last week’s Thursday packet and are due back by tomorrow Friday January 13 - no exceptions! This allows us enough time to process the payment to Culver's. Thank you!

Family Supper
As part of its Household Initiative, ICS will participate in Family Supper on Thursday January 26. Please see the lunch order form in today’s Thursday packet. Forms are due back to the ICS Office by Tuesday January 24. Thank you!

ICS Spring Book Fair
The Spring Scholastic Book Fair will take place at ICS from 2/3-2/10! We are in need of some amazing parent volunteers to help the fair run smoothly. There are a variety of ways to help before, during, and after school hours, including:

1.Setting up the fair
2.Assisting students with creating their Wish List during the Student Preview days
3.Running the cash register
4.Breaking down the fair

If you have completed your Level II Background Screening and are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Sarah Stevenson at stevensons@icstampa.org.

Please be on the lookout for more information concerning the Book Fair as we get closer to the dates!

Reading is the gateway to knowledge! Thanks for your help with this event to promote literacy!

ICS Grandparents’ Day
On Friday February 10, ICS will host its annual Grandparents’ Day. The preliminary agenda for the day is as follows:

8:00 – 9:30 a.m. – Breakfast and Book Fair

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. – Prayer Service and Student Showcase

10:30 – 11:00 a.m. – Book Fair and Grandparent Goodbyes

Please note that Friday February 10 is a full-day of school. Grandparents will be dismissed between 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. Students will report back to HR at that time.

Students will have lunch, recess and then engage in our 3rd Annual ICS DeMATHlon in the afternoon! Stay tuned for more details.

Incarnation Church Valentine's Gala
Please consider attending our Church's largest fundraiser, the ICC Valentine's Gala on Saturday February 11. More information is found here: http://icctampa.org/?event=annual-valentines-gala&event_date=2017-02-11.

REMINDER - Smart Watches and Other Devices

While ICS embraces a 21st Century Learning approach to education, and therefore the responsible use of technology in the educational process, students should use caution in brining smart watches, tablets and other electronic devices onto campus.

Tablets (iPads, Kindles, etc.) and phones are permissible on campus but must be kept in bags and powered off unless a teacher gives explicit permission for a student to use one. In this way, students must ask or be told specifically by a teacher to use a tablet or phone to access the internet.

Since smart watches are intended to be worn as a wristwatch, limiting their use to only permissible times is much more difficult. Also, given their high expense and propensity to get damaged during PE and/or recess, smart watches are not permitted for student use at ICS at this time.

ICS is not responsible for these items getting lost, stolen or damaged.

Please know that ICS firmly believes in integrating technology into its education of students. However, the safety and security of our students and responsible use of technology is paramount. WE will continue to analyze how to best incorporate these latest technological advances into the curriculum and instruction at ICS. If you have any questions or concerns about this or any ICS policy, please contact Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org

In advance, we appreciate your support!

Incarnation Carnival
The 53rd Incarnation Carnival is March 16 – 19, 2017! Incarnation Catholic School is charged with executing this community building event. We will host a planning meeting on Wednesday January 18 in the Media Center for anyone interesting in getting involved. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome.

We will need all hands on deck for this celebration of the Incarnation School and Church communities. Please consider taking a leadership role in this event. Otherwise, mark your calendars for St. Patrick’s Day weekend for the Incarnation Carnival!

Carnival Sweepstakes Drawing
Incarnation Catholic School will once again host its annual Carnival Sweepstakes Drawing to coincide with the excitement of the 53rd Incarnation Carnival. Remember that participation in the Drawing is required for any family who did not purchase at least two tickets to last November’s Auction. This is part of the $150 fundraising commitment we expect and rely upon from each ICS family (ICS families must raise at least $150 between the Auction and Drawing; any combination can be used but the total must be $150).

Your participation in the Drawing can yield a great return on your investment if you end up winning! Drawings will begin at some point in late February / early March and will run through the last day of Carnival, March 19. Any family that sells at least $150 before the Drawing begins will be entered into a bonus drawing. Stay tuned for more details!

IN KEEPING WITH OUR TRADITION, WE AT INCARNATION CATHOLIC SCHOOL:
Inspire disciples of Christ,
Challenge each individual to be a life-long learner, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.
