PRAYER INTENTIONS

We pray for Mr. Jack Foy, grandfather of Lia Morrissey (Grade 7), as he begins his radiation treatments for prostate cancer. May God give Mr. Foy strength to fight this horrible disease.

Please continue to pray for Mrs. Mireida Abad, Jennifer Lopez's (Grade 7) mother, as she continues to fight an illness. May God grant her healing and strength.

We also continue to pray for the Grillo family (Alina, Grade 6) as they mourn the loss of Alina's maternal grandfather and passing into eternal life. May God offer the family His love, comfort and peace during this difficult time.

We pray for our ICS Brownies Troop retreat taking place this Saturday February 1. The retreat, entitled "God Provides", is sponsored by the Catholic Committee for Girls and nine of our ICS students will attend. May this day of retreat be a day filled with many blessings for our Brownies Troop!

Finally, let us continue to pray for the Baker family and that a cure for cancer be found.

Have a prayer intention? Send it to icsmzele@icstampa.org

CELEBRATING SUCCESSES

Congratulations to Marissa Mattingly (Grade 3) and Lexi Velte (Grade 8), for winning the 1st - 4th Grade and 5th - 8th Grade Spelling Bees, respectively. Marissa is a three year winner in the 1st - 4th grade division! Incredible!

Lexi will represent ICS in the regional phase of the Howard Scripps National Spelling Bee later this school year. Good luck, Lexi!

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in these academic events and especially to Matthew Tran (Grade 4) and Jordan Jankowski (Grade 8), runner-ups in their age divisions. Both Bees were an AMAZING display of academic excellence!

Great job, I-r-i-s-h!

Do you know of a current ICS student or ICS graduate who has found success in the areas of academics, athletics, leadership, service or ministry that should be featured in our Newsletter? If so, please send notification to: icsmzele@icstampa.org

Mrs. Carrier is currently at this conference, a precursor and offshoot of the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC). Mrs. Carrier is presenting a workshop entitled, "Raising Kids in the Digital Age", a session inspired by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI's words, "Educating children to be discriminating in their use of the media is a responsibility of parents, Church and school."

HALL OF HONORS

Our 2nd class of inductees into the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors will take place on Friday May 2. If you would like to nominate someone for induction, please contact the Main Office for a nomination form.

Criteria for the Hall of Honors are included here:

Incarnation Catholic School graduates go on to successful high school, college and professional careers. And wherever they work, in whatever discipline they are in, you can find them at the top. This is due in part to the strong academic and spiritual foundation laid at ICS, at the outstanding homes of ICS families and as a result of the exemplar moral character of individual ICS students, faculty, staff, priests and volunteers.
The Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors recognizes alumni, faculty and staff, parents, priests, benefactors and friends of the school who made significant contributions to the School, Church, and / or world at large.
Candidates for the Incarnation Catholic School Hall of Honors must be nominated by someone other than the nominee him/herself. The School Advisory Board of Incarnation Catholic School, in consultation with the Pastor and Principal, review nominations and select qualified candidates for the year's class of inductees.
Nominations are due by March 15, 2014.

100th DAY

Today was our 100th day of school this year!

In keeping with our tradition, we at Incarnation Catholic School:
Inspire life-long learning,
Challenge each individual to be a disciple of Christ, and
Strive to live our Catholic faith through service to each other and the community.
