Prayers
Please join in praying for Sophia Castro, a 10 year old battling leukemia. She is recovering from surgery and is in need of extra prayers of healing. May God be with Sophia and her family.

We lift up the Saavedra family (Mia Cora, Grade 4) as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Saavedra's grandmother. May God's loving arms surround the Saavedra family during this difficult time.

We also lift up in prayer the Straughn family (Ashlyn, Gr. 6; Anthony Gr. 3) as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Straughn's step-father. We pray for comfort and strength for the Straughn family.

We continue to pray for the Torres family (Sophia 5, Sarah 7A, and Sebastian 8B) as they mourn the passing into eternal life of their paternal grandfather, Saul Torres. May God grant the Torres family comfort, strength and peace during this difficult time.

We also continue to lift up Julio Huaman, the father of Alex (Gr. 6). Mr. Huaman fell at his job and had surgery recently. May God be with the Huaman family and give Mr. Huaman a quick and full recovery.

We pray for students in Grades 2 - 8 as they prepare for next month's Iowa Assessment. May students take full advantage of this opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

Have a prayer request? Send it to: icsmzele@icstampa.org. Prayers will run for two weeks unless otherwise specified.

If we are able to love it is because we were first loved. May families everywhere continue to work to make their homes places where love is shared and exchanged in abundance!

Inaugural ICS DeMATHlon
Last week, students participated in our inaugural ICS DeMATHlon. Students in grades 6 - 8 worked together in grade level teams on various problem solving activities involving a mix of mathematical concepts and standards. Students in grades PreK - 5 also completed activities geared toward excellence in math within their classrooms. The day ended with a MATHademic Challenge in which representatives in grades 6 - 8 worked together to solve computation problems.

Thank you for your support of this endeavor. Please know that ICS is committed to providing a quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education for all of its students!
