Prayers
We lift up the Elkins family (Emma and Allison) as they mourn the loss of Mrs. Elkins's grandmother. We pray that God provide peace and solace during this difficult time.

We continue to pray for the Newcom family. May God offer them comfort and strength as they continue to mourn the loss of two members of their family.

We pray for a greater respect for the Eucharist and a greater devotion to it by all Catholics. May the graces of this beautiful Sacrament transform our hearts, our Church and our world!

We continue to pray for safety and shelter for all people and property throughout the remainder of the 2015 Hurricane Season.

ICS prays for Pope Francis I and his upcoming trip to America to focus on the family next week. May his visit inspire our country to reinvigorate its moral foundations.

Have a prayer request? Send it to icsmzele@icstampa.org

Hope Will Rise

This prayer comes from St. Cyprian and is a great reminder to fight our battles on our knees in PRAYER! Through prayer Hope Will Rise! Through prayer, we will find joy and victory! Pray!

Incarnation Inspiration
Congratulations to 8th Grader Maria Leal for living out our Mission Statement by performing service to a fellow ICS student. At afternoon pick-up one day, a PreK student started to move to his cone but had left his lunchbox behind. Maria noticed this and took action - she ran and got the lunchbox and took it to the young man before he loaded into his car! Thanks, Maria!

We also honored Mrs. Sirianni, ICS Instructional Aide, for her commitment and dedication to our school, its teachers and its students. Mrs. Sirianni was recognized for attending our PreK - Grade 5 Curriculum Night to support our teachers and students! What a great display of commitment and love for our school! Great job, Mrs. Sirianni! ICS is blessed to have you!

Background Screening and Safe Environment Program Training
If you desire to access our children throughout the course of the school day (come to lunch, volunteer in the classroom) you must be Level II Background Screened through the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Fingerprints taken for other reasons by other organizations are not acceptable. They must be done through the Diocese. This screen is good for 5 years and it is part of a system that runs routine checks to ensure that no criminal activity takes place between your initial screen and the date of your expiration.

In some cases, the background screening of some of our families has expired! If you have questions about the validity of your screen please contact the Front Office: 813.884.4502.

For details about getting screened and/or to set up an appointment, please visit this link: http://dosp.org/safe-environment/fingerprint-based-background-screening/

In addition to having a Level II Background Screening through the Diocese, volunteers who wish to supervise children (chaperone, volunteer aide, coach, etc.) must also complete the Diocesan Safe Environment Program. This training must be done in person to begin with and then it can be renewed once online. The initial training is good for 5 years.

If you need to check the validity of your Safe Environment Program training, please contact the Front Office: 813.884.4502.

Thank you for your efforts to keep our children safe and to maintain a secure campus!

ICS Family Supper - 9/24/15
In addition to being in Homerooms, students have once again been placed into Households for the 2015 – 16 school year. These multi-aged groupings are led by one of the ICS faculty members, and are comprised of students from PreK4 – Grade 8. PreK3 members of our school are not included in Households.

Students will meet in their Households at least twice a month: once for a Household meeting followed by the Celebration of the Eucharist (pray); once for a meal called a “Family Supper” (eat); and a third time for an Irish Cup activity (play).

The purpose of these intentional times to build community is to: further the mission of the school by providing greater pastoral care to all our students while strengthening our sense of family, school spirit, and faith in God.

The first such Family Supper this school year with Households is next Thursday September 24, 2015.

The entire school will be eating lunch between 12:10 – 1:10. Therefore, coordinating the purchase of lunches on those days is imperative. To help us with this effort you will find an order form attached to this letter for any student purchasing lunch on Thursday September 24, 2015.

If your child purchases a lunch through their lunch card, just fill out the order form and return it. The cost of the order will be deducted from the lunch card.

If your child purchases a lunch through cash, please send the money in along with the order form. Should change need to be given it will be delivered back to your child.

If your child packs but purchases (through either a lunch card or with cash) additional items / snacks, they will not be able to do so on Family Supper days. Please pack enough food / drink for your son or daughter if they are not purchasing a lunch.

Please return your order form (in today's packet) by Tuesday September 22!

If you have any questions, please contact the school office: 813.884.4502.
