ICS Family Fundraising
Commitment
As a private Catholic school, ICS depends on the generosity and efforts of its families to provide its students with a dynamic Catholic education. In order for ICS to fulfill its mission, every ICS family is expected to raise at least $150 through either the ICS Auction and / or the ICS Payday Sweepstakes Drawing (to total $150 between the two events). Tickets for the Auction are $75 each. Invitations will be coming in today's Thursday Packet.

*The Sweepstakes Drawing takes place in the spring (exact dates, TBD). Last year prize money for the Drawing totaled over $5,000!

Thank you in advance for your support!

Under the Stars Movie Night
This Saturday October 15 is our 4th annual "Under the Stars" Movie Night from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. in the ICS Pavilion. Cost per family is $5 for admission. Food items, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. We hope to see you there!

Movie Night will follow the Celebration of the Eucharist at 4:30 p.m. in the Church! ICS students will once again serve as ministers during the Mass - choir, readers, gift bearers and servers! We hope to see you there for both Mass and the movie!

Any student who ministers at Mass should dress in their school uniform. They will be awarded a free dress day on Monday October 17 for their efforts.

Any other student who attends Mass in their school uniform will also be given a free dress day on Monday October 17. Just be sure to check in with Mr. Zelenka!

ICS Halloween Celebration: Costumes
Students should adhere to the following guidelines for our Halloween Celebration on Monday October 31.

*Storybook Character Costumes:
-Pre - K to Grade 5

-Any easily identifiable character from literature: Cinderella, Aladdin, Harry Potter, Fancy Nancy, Clifford, etc. No blood, weapons, etc. The purpose of our dress is to promote school spirit, promote a love of reading and have fun. It is not to scare or sicken. Thank you for maintaining this rationale for this celebration.

*Any student not participating in Storybook Character Costume Day should wear their regulation school uniform.

*All costumes must be put on at home.

*Crazy Hair Day:
-Grades 6 - 8

-Horrible hair - different size ponytails, braids, curls, spikes, messy, wigs, rubber bands, colors, etc. ALL HAIRDOS MUST BE DONE AT HOME.

-Students in grades 6 - 8 are permitted to wear Spirit Shirts, jeans and sneakers. School uniform is the alternative.

If you have any questions, please contact the Front Office: 813.884.4502.

ICS Halloween Celebration: 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat
As a part of its Halloween Celebration, ICS will sponsor its 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat.

Trunk or Treat is a Halloween event where people gather and park their cars, open their trunks or back of their vehicles, decorate them and pass out candy from their trunks. The event provides a safe family environment for trick or treaters.

The event will take place in the ICS Pavilion Parking Lot. Seventy spots will be made available. Spots are available on a first come first serve basis. Participants must have a current Level II Background Screening. For the safety of our children, no cars will be allowed to enter before or after the setup time listed below nor will any vehicle be allowed to exit the lot until the event is over.
When: Monday October 31st
Setup:  12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Event:  1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Where: ICS Pavilion Parking Lot

The entire school community will be trunk or treating throughout the course of the afternoon. Participants, please have enough candy to sustain the event (we have just under 300 students). Candy must be wrapped.

Parents will receive 2 commitment hours for their participation in this event.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form in today's Thursday packet and return it to the school office by October 28.

Breast Cancer Awareness
Next Thursday October 20, students are permitted to wear a pink shirt to show our support for Breast Cancer  Awareness. If you don't have a pink shirt, feel free to accessorize next Thursday with pink: pink socks, wristbands, hair ties, etc.

Students can wear jeans, PE shorts or uniform shorts with sneakers and their pink shirts on Thursday October 20. If you don't have a pink shirt, an ICS shirt (uniform or spirit) should be worn.

Cold Weather Gear
As our temperatures become cooler, please make note of our cold weather uniform policies:

*All students:

During PE class, or when students are outside of other classrooms, an ICS jacket or other jacket may be worn in weather 73° or lower, but must be taken off when entering a classroom.

*Pre-K Boys and Girls:
Navy blue sweatpants and navy blue crewneck pullover sweatshirts.

*K - 8 Boys
Navy blue ICS sweatshirt (purchased at ICS), other navy blue crewneck pullover sweatshirt, or navy blue ICS fleece jacket (purchased at Sunshine-Wear).

*K - 8 Girls:

Plain white tights may be worn in cool weather.

Navy blue ICS sweatshirt (purchased at ICS), other navy blue crewneck pullover sweatshirt, or navy blue ICS fleece jacket (purchased at Sunshine-Wear).

*PE Uniform, all students:
Plain navy blue sweatpants (purchased at local stores) during cold weather.

Navy blue ICS sweatshirt (purchased at school), other navy blue crewneck pullover sweatshirt, or navy blue ICS fleece jacket (purchased at Sunshine Uniform Company) for cold weather.

Various cold weather clothing options can be purchased through Sunshine-Wear: https://sunshine-wear.com or the Front Office.

If you have any questions, please consult our ICS Handbook or contact the Front Office.

Leaving School Early
As per our ICS Family - Student Handbook (pg. 49):
Students who leave school early for reasons other than illness must have notification (written, electronic, phone) from the parent/guardian. If a student is to be excused during the school day, the parent/guardian or person picking the student up must sign out the student in the school office. Please do not go directly to the classroom.
The Front Office is not a pick-up location. The Front Office does not have the space to hold multiple students nor do we have the personnel available in the office to adequately supervise them.

If you need your child(ren) prior to dismissal (3:00 - 3:20), you must contact the office before 2:30 p.m.

Our ICS carline efficiently dismisses our entire student population within 20 minutes. Waiting to arrive to campus until about 3:10 will allow you to easily pick up your student from the Pavilion with little to no waiting at all. Students can also be picked up from St. Michael Hall for no charge between 3:20 - 3:30.

Thank you for following these expectations. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org
