Prayers
Please join in praying for the following intentions:

-We lift up in prayer all members of our school community who are sick. May God grant offering healing, comfort, peace and strength.

-We pray for peace in our world.

-We pray for our Church leaders, especially Pope Francis I, Bishop Lynch and Fr. Michael Suszynski. May they continue to shepherd and lead us closer to God.

-We pray for the safety, health and emotional well-being of children everywhere.

-We hold in prayer all of those who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

-We pray in thanksgiving for the gift our intellect and for its infinite capacity to learn. May we remain faithfully committed to the learning process, embracing all of its many challenges.

Have a prayer request? Send it to: icsmzele@icstampa.org. Prayers will run for two weeks unless otherwise specified.

Thank You
Thank you once again to teachers, families and students who attended last night's Middle School Curriculum Night. Thank you for taking time to visit with faculty and administration to learn more about our AMAZING school. The partnership between home and school is such an important recipe for the success of our students. Thank you for partnering with us at ICS.

Moms and Tots
Today is our first ever Moms and Tots Group hosted by ICS. This event is open to moms and toddlers ages 2 - 3. The next session will be Thursday September 25 (the group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays) at 9:00 a.m. Contact Ms. Rachel Noto for more information or to sign-up: notor@icstampa.org

Households and Family Suppers
This past Friday, ICS Households welcomed new members into the groups that were created during the 2013 - 14 school year. As part of a three year initiative, Households will remain the same for this school year (14 - 15) and next (15 - 16). As one of the purposes of the program is to intentionally build community, students and teachers need to be together for longer than one year in order for meaningful relationships to develop.

As last year was the implementation year and much time was spent engaged in "getting to know each other" activities, we hope to deeper the connections between and among students and teachers throughout this year. We will also look for opportunities for families to be involved. Stay tuned for more details.

Our first Household event is Thursday September 18 - Family Supper. Please see the order form in today's packet if you plan to purchase lunch on this Family Supper day. As the entire school eats lunch at the same time, coordination of purchases must take place in order for us to disseminate lunches efficiently and correctly. The form will be in today's Thursday packet; it is due back, for planning purposes, by Tuesday September 16.

If you have any questions about Households, please contact the Front Office, or visit Mr. Zelenka's Catholic Education blog: http://icscatholicedu.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
