Prayers
Please join us in praying for the following:

-Continued prayers for the Paxon family (Tiana, Gr. 3, and Bentley, K) as they mourn the loss of their paternal great grandmother, Dorothy Chipoletti. May God wrap the Paxon family in His strength and love during this difficult time.
-Greater respect for human life from conception to its natural end.
-For families, married couples and engaged couples everywhere!

Have a person or intention to add to our prayer list? Send it to icsmzele@icstampa.org

Carnival Sweepstakes Drawing
Tickets for the Incarnation Carnival Sweepstakes Drawing were sent home with ICS students on Tuesday February 14. If you have not already done so, please be sure to check with your students for your family's allotment of 15 tickets!

Remember that your participation in this fundraiser is mandatory. We rely on the generous support of our ICS families through both the Auction and the Sweepstakes Drawing to continue to offer our dynamic ICS education. Each family is expected to raise at least $150 between both the Auction and the Drawing. If you have any questions, please contact the Front Office: (813) 884-4502.

Your participation in the Drawing can yield a great return on your investment if you end up winning! Drawings will begin on March 1 and will run through the last day of Carnival, March 19. Any family that sells at least $150 by Tuesday February 28 will be entered into a $250 bonus drawing.

The drawings begin on March 1! Sell your tickets to maximize your chances to win!

Incarnation Carnival - Construction Set-up

Spring Picture Day - 2/21/17
Spring Pictures will be this coming Tuesday, February 21. Students are to wear casual spring clothes. Please see the handbook for Free Dress guidelines (page 65 - http://www.icstampa.org/uploads/6/2/0/9/62091753/ics_student-family_handbook_update_16-17.pdf). Please note that neither leggings nor jeans with holes are permitted. Shoes also need to be closed-toe.

Everyone will take a picture and purchases will be made available at a later date. Smile!

Iowa Assessment
From March 6 - 10, ICS students in grades 2 - 8 will participate in the Iowa Assessment. The Iowa Assessment is a nationwide standardized test aimed at providing feedback as to the overall growth of our students and our school. Scores are compared to the performance of all of the other students who take the same test at the same time. In this way, the test provides teachers, students and families information about the progress of a student.

While there is no way to study for this type of test, students and families can prepare in the following ways:

1. Get a good night's sleep.
2. Eat a good breakfast.
3. Start reviewing grade level content taught thus far this school year.
4. Encourage your son/daughter to do his/her best!

Information for students who qualify for accommodations during this week of testing have been sent to families.

If you have any questions about Iowa Assessments, please contact either your child's Homeroom teacher or Mrs. Riek: rieka@icstampa.org or Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org.

REMINDER - Morning Care Study Hall
Remember that this starting this past Monday February 13, ICS students attending morning care (7:00 - 7:30 a.m.) should be prepared for a "Study Hall" atmosphere. Students will be expected to be either working on assignments for class, studying and/or reading! Please be sure to send students in to school with something academic to do!

In order to become an expert at anything, we must spend time actively working on that skill! Excellence happens on purpose - we will purposefully use this time in the morning to set a tone for our day and find success!

PBIS Updates
We are in the final stages of designing the Red Ticket reward menus that will allow students more autonomy with their accumulation of Red Tickets. Details will be shared next week! Stay tuned!

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org.

REMINDER - Box Tops for Education
The first deadline of 2017 is March 1. Please help ICS to collect more Box Tops to earn more funds for our great school! Send Box Tops in to the Front Office. Using a collection sheet makes submissions even easier:

Thank you!

REMINDER - Labels for Education
In addition to collecting Box Tops for Education, ICS is also collecting Labels for Education in an effort to raise funds for our school. For more details, please visit this site: http://www.labelsforeducation.com

Please note this program is ending at the end of the summer (August 1, 2017) so please help ICS to maximize its reward. Send in your Labels for Education to the Front Office.
