Mass 2/25/17

All ICS families are invited to join ICS students who will be ministering at the 4:30 p.m. Mass this Saturday February 25. Any student interested in joining the choir for this event is welcome to do so! All students that are ministering at Mass should dress in their formal school uniform. Any student in attendance is encouraged to wear their formal school uniform, too.

A Free Dress Day on 2/27 will be awarded to any student who attends Mass and wears the formal ICS uniform! Just be sure to check in with Mr. Zelenka after Mass!

We hope to see you there!

Family - Teacher Conferences

Family - Teacher Conferences are this upcoming Thursday March 2. If you have not already requested a conference from your child(ren)'s teacher(s), please do so as soon as possible (just email that teacher directly). It is our honor to partner with you to educate your child(ren) in Catholic education.

REMINDER - Carnival Sweepstakes Drawing
Tickets for the Incarnation Carnival Sweepstakes Drawing were sent home with ICS students on Tuesday February 14.

Remember that your participation in this fundraiser is mandatory. We rely on the generous support of our ICS families through both the Auction and the Sweepstakes Drawing to continue to offer our dynamic ICS education. Each family is expected to raise at least $150 between both the Auction and the Drawing. If you have any questions, please contact the Front Office: (813) 884-4502.

Your participation in the Drawing can yield a great return on your investment if you end up winning! Drawings will begin on March 1 and will run through the last day of Carnival, March 19. Any family that sells at least $150 by Tuesday February 28 will be entered into a $250 bonus drawing.

The drawings begin on March 1! Sell your tickets to maximize your chances to win!

REMINDER - Iowa Assessment

From March 6 - 10, ICS students in grades 2 - 8 will participate in the Iowa Assessment. The Iowa Assessment is a nationwide standardized test aimed at providing feedback as to the overall growth of our students and our school. Scores are compared to the performance of all of the other students who take the same test at the same time. In this way, the test provides teachers, students and families information about the progress of a student.

While there is no way to study for this type of test, students and families can prepare in the following ways:

1. Get a good night's sleep.

2. Eat a good breakfast.
3. Start reviewing grade level content taught thus far this school year.
4. Encourage your son/daughter to do his/her best!

Information for students who qualify for accommodations during this week of testing have been sent to families.

If you have any questions about Iowa Assessments, please contact either your child's Homeroom teacher or Mrs. Riek: rieka@icstampa.org or Mr. Zelenka: icsmzele@icstampa.org.

REMINDER - Morning Care Study Hall

Remember that starting last Monday February 13, ICS students attending morning care (7:00 - 7:30 a.m.) should be prepared for a "Study Hall" atmosphere. Students will be expected to be either working on assignments for class, studying and/or reading! Please be sure to send students in to school with something academic to do!

In order to become an expert at anything, we must spend time actively working on that skill! Excellence happens on purpose - we will purposefully use this time in the morning to set a tone for our day and find success!
