Prayers
We pray in thanksgiving for the Sacrament of Confirmation celebrated yesterday evening by many of our ICS 8th graders and their families. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit remain with our Confirmands forever! Special thanks to Bishop Robert Lynch for being the main Celebrant during the Mass and to our partners in catechesis, Philomena Johnson and Carmen Cayon, for their hard work in preparing all of the candidates!

We pray for the success of our Easter Concert tomorrow. May we honor and glorify God through our celebration of music and may it point our entire school community toward the peace, hope and joy of the Resurrection!

We also pray for the success of this Friday's Irish Cup Championship. May this competition be a method for our school to grow closer together and closer to Christ.

We lift up our 8th graders as they prepare to travel to Washington D.C. next week. May God watch over them and protect them and bring them safely back to ICS!

We pray for the McDarby family as they mourn the loss of their son and brother, Rob, a 1983 graduate of Incarnation Catholic School. May God be with the McDarby family during this difficult time.

Have a prayer request? Send it to: icsmzele@icstampa.org. Prayers will run for two weeks unless otherwise specified.

ICS Athletics
Congratulations to Coach Garofolo and the Irish Boys' Flag Football team as they won the Hillsborough Catholic Youth Sports League Tournament Championship, 20 - 13, against Nativity Catholic School this past Tuesday. Thank you to Coaches Stahley and Phillipp for their hard work and dedication with our young men! GO IRISH!

Many thanks to our student-athletes and their families for their support of our ICS Irish Athletic Department. Congratulations to all of our teams for an outstanding year. GO IRISH!

ICS Family Challenge

May we help form young people who are resilient yet tenderhearted, strong and compassionate, powerful but humble. May we form our young people into disciples of Christ.

Please know of our continued prayers for all of our ICS parents and families. May you persevere in doing the most important work there is to do in the world - leaving the legacy of your faith in your children!

Easter Concert
Today, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Michael Hall, we will offer our second musical production of the school year, a concert of songs dedicated to celebrating the joyous season of Easter. Students should be at the school no later than 6:30 for a 7:00 p.m. start time. Dress code for 3 - 8 is solid white on top and black on the bottom (no leggings and nothing above the knee). PreK through 2nd should wear their "Sunday best!". Students should report to their Homerooms by 6:30.

The program will take place in St. Michael Hall at 7:00 p.m. Seats are first come, first served. There is no cost for attendance. The entire event should take less than 60 minutes. After their performances, students will report back to their Homerooms. For security reasons, parents / families should go to their student's homeroom to pick them up after the conclusion of the Easter Program. Students will not be released to parents from the stage.

We hope to see you tonight! Christ is risen! Alleluia!

Irish Cup Championship
Tomorrow, Friday May 15, ICS students and teachers will participate in our 2nd Annual Irish Cup Championship. Please take note of the following important updates about this historic day:

1. Students will be receiving a Priory t-shirt to wear tomorrow. This shirt is complimentary; donations of $5 per shirt would be graciously accepted, though, to help offset the costs associated with this initiative.

2. Dress for the day is Priory shirts (they will be given on the day of the event) and PE shorts and sneakers. You may also want to apply sunscreen in the morning as part of our day will be outside. You are also welcome to send in hats to help mitigate the effects of the sun.

3. NJHS is selling Icees for $1.00. Pre-sale orders are completed; students may be able to purchase on the day of the event for one dollar (subject to availability).

4. We will have Family Supper for lunch. If you plan to buy but did not yet send in the order form, please be sure to do so for tomorrow.

5. You should send your child with a snack and water to help fuel their day.

6. Part of the competition is academic in nature; the other portion is athletic.

7. Volunteers are needed. You must be Level II screened and Safe Environment Program trained. Contact the Main Office to sign up.

8. Students do not need book bags on Friday.

9. Some of our events will incorporate STEM activities. As such, students in grades 3 - 8 may want to bring a device (with your parental approval) with the following apps pre-loaded:

-FreeFlight 3 (Parrot SA)
-Ollie App (Orbotix Inc.)
-LEGO Movie Maker (The LEGO Group)

10. Thank you to the many parents who made donations toward the purchase of our Irish Cup supplies.

IOWA Assessment Scores
IOWA Assessment scores are in and teachers have spent the past few weeks analyzing results. We will disseminate copies of the reports issued to ICS from Riverside, the testing company, next Thursday. We have not yet had a chance to run the longitudinal reports that we gave out last year. We will have those ready by the end of the school year.

In the meantime, spend some time on our IOWA Assessment video series to help you understand the nature of standardized testing:
