Prayers
We pray in thanksgiving for the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism and for the ICS students who received these, respectively this past weekend! May the grace of God be with you always!

We pray for the success of our Easter Concert next week. May we honor and glorify God through our celebration of music next Thursday.

We also pray for the success of next Friday's Irish Cup Championship. May this competition be a method for our school to grow closer together and closer to Christ.

We lift up our 8th graders as they begin their final exams. May the wisdom of the Holy Spirit lead and guide them and may they do their best - finish strong!

We continue to offer up the following prayers for members of our school community:

-We pray for the repose of the soul of Beatriz Isabel Ruiz and all her family and friends. Ms. Ruiz was a close friend of Yanneris Perez, mother of Oscar De Los Rios (Grade 1). May God offer strength and comfort to Oscar's family during this difficult time.

-We pray for the grandfather of Mrs. Sabella (Jaclyn and Anna, Grades K and 3), Mr. Charles Bell, Jr., who passed into eternal life. May God be with Mrs. Sabella and her family and may they take comfort in the hope and peace of the Resurrection.

-We also pray for 7th grader Matt Covington and his family as they mourn the loss of his grandfather, Gene Bulso. May God surround the Covington family with His love, peace and strength.

-Finally, we continue to pray for all of our students (8th graders) who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in two weeks. We pray that through the gifts of the Holy Spirit - Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety and Fear of the Lord - our newly confirmed will live with renewed vigor for Jesus Christ!

Have a prayer request? Send it to: icsmzele@icstampa.org. Prayers will run for two weeks unless otherwise specified.

ICS Family Challenge

One of the most important qualities that we can bestow upon our children is grit. Studies show that grit is one of the biggest indicators of success - more important than intelligence and talent. Grit is the ability to be persistent and resilient. It is our ability to persevere when things are challenging and to demonstrate resiliency by getting back up and trying again when we fail.

Talk to your children about times in your life that you persevered through a difficult situation and/or times where you failed but didn't give up and you tried again. Encourage them that they can do hard work and that learning and growth result from a struggle.

Combine grit with God's grace and you have the ability to move mountains...or whatever else He created you to do.

Easter Concert
Next Thursday May 14 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Michael Hall, we will offer our second musical production of the school year, a concert of songs dedicated to celebrating the joyous season of Easter. Students should be at the school no later than 6:30 for a 7:00 p.m. start time. Dress code for 3 - 8 is solid white on top and black on the bottom (no leggings and nothing above the knee). PreK through 2nd should wear their "Sunday best!". Students should report to their Homerooms by 6:30.

The program will take place in St. Michael Hall at 7:00 p.m. Seats are first come, first served. There is no cost for attendance. The entire event should take less than 60 minutes. After their performances, students will report back to their Homerooms. For security reasons, parents / families should go to their student's homeroom to pick them up after the conclusion of the Easter Program. Students will not be released to parents from the stage.

We hope to see you next Thursday! Christ is risen! Alleluia!
